Smart Handling - Tracking Machine Assets

The Flanders Institute for Logistics (VIL) organised a Smart Handling investigation where together with a consortium of 12 industry partners they investigated and tested solutions for track and trace of local transport of goods indoors and outdoors.

On 26 Sept 2013, VIL presented the results of tests the consortium had performed using EPS technology to track outdoor assets at an Atlas Copco manufacturing site, with the following conclusion:

... the RTLS technology allows reliable tracking of goods outdoors with sub-meter accuracy and sub-second response time.


This video shows a demonstration of some of the test environment, with the EPS RTLS solution used to accurately track heavy machine assets outdoors in the storage yard.
