The Essensium team is committed to deliver state-of-the art and innovative solutions and to use its depth of experience to the benefit of its customers.
Essensium's management team has over 100 years of experience in telecommunications systems and chip design. This team has been instrumental in the design of many telecommunications ASICs and ASSPs and in the delivery of CMOS radio modems, especially Bluetooth and 802.11a/b/g radios.

Johan Danneels (Founder and CEO)
Johan accumulated 30 years professional experience as Corporate Vice President of Alcatel, Groups Vice President of STMicroelectronics, CEO of Alcatel Microelectronics and STM-Belgium and as chairman of IMEC from 2000 to 2005.Johan obtained his Master of Science and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the KULeuven and an MBA degree from the Boston University.

Edmond Janssens (Co-founder, Director Operations)
Edmond has about 30 years of experience in the management of large advanced design projects and the management of collaboration with research institutes and universities. Edmond has held these development positions at Alcatel and STMicroelectronics. Edmond was co-founder of design house InCir that was later acquired by Alcatel Microelectronics.Edmond received his MscEE and PhD degrees from the KULeuven. His background is in the design of mixed signal circuits.

Frederic Stubbe (Co-founder, Director Wireless Products)
Frederic worked 8 years for Conexant where he got the opportunity to build up an extensive experience in analog and RF design as well as engineering management. Frederic then joined STMicroelectronics Belgium, where he was in charge of the RF team. Frederic broadened the scope of his responsibilities by heading the RF Center of Competence across the telecom group in STMicroelectronics.Frederic received his MScEE degree from the KULeuven.

Arne Ovyn (Finance Director)
Essensium has appointed Arne Ovyn as director finance.
Prior to joining Essensium, Arne worked as a transaction services manager at PriceWaterHouseCoopers Belgium, assisting and managing due diligence assignments both vendor and buyer side over the last 5 years.
Arne obtained his masters degree in applied economics from KULeuven.

Serge Peeters (Sales & Marketing Manager)
Serge Peeters has about 16 years of sales and marketing experience in both semiconductor and components distribution business.
Starting his career as system engineer for about 6 years, providing microprocessor based hardware/software solutions, he moved rapidly into pre-sales and sales supporting Intel architecture projects.
He later joined AMI Semiconductor driving the Microprocessor IP Initiative Program to secure the transition to complex Mixed Signal ASIC designs and SOC capabilities.
He left Nijkerk Computer Solution to join Essensium as Sales and Marketing manager.
Serge has a Master degree in Electronics and Computer Science.

Stephen Dunphy (Senior Product Manager)
Stephen Dunphy joined Essensium in October 2009, bringing 15 years of international engineering and management experience in ASIC development and Wireless Communications. He held ASIC design and project management roles in Ireland, the Netherlands and France before joining Agilent Technologies in 2001. As a member of Agilent’s Wireless Business Unit he held a number of positions in Belgium and the UK, including Senior R&D Manager for WLAN and Bluetooth product lines, Head of the European Wireless Operation Strategic planning group for Emerging Wireless standards, and Product Planning Lead for the Advanced Development ASIC section. He has an Electronics Engineering degree from the University of Limerick, Ireland.
